Recognizing the growing need of Electrical Energy Sector, a small beginning was made by establishing ELECON in the year 1981 with a small production capacity of 200 MT per year to manufacture paper insulated copper strips under the able and courageous leadership of great visionary Mr. Satish Chand Jain.
ELECON continued to grow and diversify adding new products and factories. Today we are having production capacity of 1800 MI per annum. We are on approved list of Power grid corporation of India for copper conductor upto 220 kv class.
Now, Elecon Group of Companies is one of the leading manufacturers of Power & Distribution Transformers of various class & ratings. Besides this, Group is also engaged in Production of Insulated/Bare Copper/Aluminum Strips & Wire, PV Ribbon and ACSR, AAAC Conductors and heating chambers.
A decade ago, Indian Copper Industry consisted of single state owned company and now the copper industry in India takes up about 3% of the entire world market for copper. Copper is the most sustainable gift of nature's bounty. It's almost impossible to imagine the globe without copper. The whole wide world is relying on copper for power, lighting, heating, communication, water, agriculture and transport. Today's technology, without which we feel deficient, is driven by copper.
